GETTING STARTED

Like all software programs, there is a learning curve. To reduce that and answer many questions, we've put together a table of screen shots and relevant information which is displayed below. Also please read the document included in the Demo archive and is called 'Before you start.doc)

This is instantly accessible by hitting Control 1 from anywhere in the program or you can simply click on the ISP Billing logo in the top left corner of every screen.

Credit card information is masked so that it cannot be seen by unauthorized users.

If this option is checked, clicking into the field will allow access to view or edit the information.

System Administrators can precisely control who can do what by simply checking or unchecking the various privileges. Each user has their own personal login/password and can be restricted to specific days and times of access or allowed access at all times. Access can be shut off immediately the employee leaves the company by simply deleting their user record. Additional privileges can be added on request. Access to this screen is strictly controlled and should be limited to the system administrator.

Yes, ISP Billing does support Canada's dual taxation system of GST & PST.

Credits to invoices automatically reduce each tax proportionally and correctly

	Buttons are now grouped and segmented for ease of use. These buttons will all add a new record of the selected type for the current customer with the exception of the add 'Client' which will add a new client and allow you to set them up with a service (billing plan), create the initial invoice and post the payment to it before returning you to the client record.	The small checkbox in the header area indicates whether the current user can create records or not. If it is checked (as shown) the user is authorized to create new records; if unchecked, they are not and nothing will happen when the buttons are pressed.
	There is a 'Restricted' group of buttons in each file; these functions are set as part of the user privileges and are only available to authorized users.	The options that appear in this grouping will differ from file to file depending on what is allowed within that file.
	The first four buttons will take you to those records for the current customer and display them in either list or form view depending on how many records are found. (These buttons are also found in the header area so that they are available in both form and list view). The 'Statement' button will compile a detailed statement of all invoices for the current customer that can be emailed or printed out.	The 'As List' button switches to a list of customers and performs the same function as clicking anywhere on the line item at the top of the screen. Note: If only one record appears in List View, press the 'Show All' button to bring up all clients for the current company.

This area shows payments that have been applied to the current invoice and also any unapplied credits for the customer. When you press the button to 'pay' the invoice, the program looks to see if there are any unapplied credits and gives you the option to use them.

ISP Billing supports both single and dual taxation systems for countries such as Canada with GST and PST. It also allows for any item to be tax exempt.

Cancels the current client and stops any future invoicing Reinstates a cancelled account

Suspends an individual account and stops future invoicing; note that this is generally done as part of a batch suspension process for delinquent accounts Unsuspends a suspended account and resets billing cycle.

	These buttons allow you to review any incomplete tasks or problems on a system wide basis.	Simply select from the list of service reps/employees to display all of the incomplete tasks or problems for that person.
	Click on any of these buttons to view or add a record of that type for the current customer. These buttons are found in the 'More Info' or 'Support' screen.	Use of these is completely optional; if you don't need to record this type of information, ignore them.

Items that are checked are accessible to the current user.

button adds a new billing plan item to an existing plan and create a prorated invoice for that new item for the remainder of the current billing cycle. allows you to manually invoice any service ahead of its billing date; generally this is only used to apply an overpayment. allows you to override the default fees for a particular service item or frequency. Allows you to update any or all existing records with new pricing.

	You can have as many different inventory items as you wish. You will notice that there is a single record for each item with different prices depending on the payment frequency; the program automatically calculates the correct price based on the payment frequency selected for the service/billing plan and instantly recalculates when that is changed.
	When you add a service for a customer, the list of options that you can choose from is only those inventory items that are for that clients company.

For each 'company' that you have within the program, you enter the default connection settings which are used in the Welcome Letter that is sent (optional) to the customer via mail or email.
You may also create any number of records for different POPs and simply enter settings, in those records, where they differ from the default; these settings then override or replace the default settings in the Welcome Letters for clients in that particular POP.
